Streets And Trips With GPS

The urge to get it was so strong that i fell for it.On my way home from school, i purchased Microsoft Streets and Trips that came with a usb gps which can be used with pocketpc/laptop.I am in the process of trying it out.Its so cool. But the only problem is there is no voice navigation feature built in. Thats one of the setback. In order to use it on my trip i will have to have someone with me or stop at some place to check the route. But for every problem, there is a solution or so they say.
I did some google search and found out that if i get Microsoft Mappoint, i will be able to get a plugin that can give voice navigation. But its an expensive solution. I think Microsoft should have built the feature into it by default. I will let you all(i know there is only one reader) know about my experience with this unit.

My friend has MS Mappoint with a GPS, and it works pretty good. He doesn't have the voice thing, but It's pretty cool to see where you are on a map when we go fishing and hunting. We've found a few new lakes to fish on with that thing, way out in the middle of the woods. We prolly look like yuppies with a laptop and GPS out in the middle of the woods, but oh well, it's fun.
