Update[Feb 17th 2006] - If you wanna make use of the TvOut functionality of the ipod, you dont have to buy the expensive cable from apple. You can just use the regular "eighth-inch- av-to-RCA cable" that u use for the camcorder. Only trick is,
"Plug the red RCA plug into your TV's yellow RCA jack.
Plug the yellow RCA plug into your TV's white RCA jack.
Plug the white RCA plug into your TV's red RCA jack."

Update[March 7th 2006] - Ok so i have tried various solutions to convert different formats to the ipod compatible format and so far i love the Videora Ipod Converter . Best of all its free. If u need help in choosing the right bitrate, check out this post over at ilounge. They have posted the bitrate that has been tested by various people and its there for you. Have fun with your Ipod.
