Apple updates the Macbook Pro to Core 2 Duo - Along with a new processor they have added more memory(1 gb on the low end and 2 gb on the higher end with max ram bumped up to 3 gb), bigger hard drive and firewire 800. Apple claims that it runs 39% faster than its previous core duo
version.

MacBook SMC Firmware Update 1.1 - " The SMC Update improves the MacBook’s internal monitoring system and addresses issues with unexpected shutdowns." Hopefully this will resolve the random shutdown syndrome(rss).
